Eine Gedankenausstellung ist eine performative&nbsp; Installation an der Schnittstelle von Fotografie und Zellbiologie. Die spezifische Versuchsanordnung, die in Kollaboration mit dem Virologen Florian Hastert konzipiert wurde, erforscht Möglichkeiten der Vernetzung zwischen Kunst und Naturwissenschaften, um der menschlichen Perspektive mit heterogenen Zonen des Unähnlichen zu begegnen.In der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Labor als Ort der Wissensproduktion beleuchtet Paul Pape das Dispositiv der Produktion naturwissenschaftlicher Fakten als geschliffene Ebenbilder der Natur. Eine wesentliche Position nehmen dabei die Apparaturen und Maschinen der Experimentalsysteme ein, die naturwissenschaftliche Erkenntnis immer bereits als eine vermittelte auszeichnen. Unter dem mikroskopischen Blick wird die Dingwelt in Verschränkungen. Eine Gedankenausstellung in ihrer Eigendynamik sichtbar, die sich auditiv als Klang-Infektion verselbstständigt.Durch eine eigens von Paul Pape konzipierte analoge Fotografie-Apparatur wird der Raum zudem selbst zu einem Datenraum, dessen Spuren in dem Prozess der Aufzeichnung und der direkten künstlerischen Transformation zu ArteFakten werden. Diese abstrakten Dokumente des Situativen hinterfragen den Status von Information im Kontext von Big Data und die Position des Subjekts in der digitalen Informationsökonomie. &nbsp;Verweilen wir noch einen Moment im Digitalen: Was Sie hier vor sich sehen, ist das digitale Archiv von Verschränkungen. Eine Gedankenausstellung. Die Sedimente einer sich fortschreibenden Recherche, an deren Anfang die Frage steht, wie man sich mithilfe der Kunst als einer Art „Bindeglied“ der Utopie eines „Parlaments der Dinge“ (Bruno Latour) annähern könnte. The theme of the work is the freedom of musicians in a relationship of dependency and experimentation with a redeveloped camera obscura. Musicians, composers, visual artists and a director work together collaboratively to create performances, exhibitions and concerts. The arms and legs of the dancers are —like puppets on strings—connected to a hand built machine that registers them into a drawing. The intention of the machine is to interpret an unexpected combination of movement, dance, music and photography. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; The Dance Camera is a self-designed 3D printed camera with an integrated light drawings system with strings. The design and construction of this camera was made in collaboration with product designer, Felix Pape and costume designer Agnes Storch. The Institute for Tropospheric Research in Leipzig, uses both complex and simple filter systems to measure the soot pollution in the air. A very simple but effective technique they use is, a special cotton, through which is pumped a large volume of the atmosphere. Depending on the exposure and place, the cotton filter is impregnated &nbsp; with dark stains. On this method the dust camera is based: made out of steal, wood and a special white filter cotton—F9 material which is used for protective masks. A strong ventilator pulls the air through the stretched cotton canvas.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; I positioned my machine in different locations and for a while let it “breathe in” the air. After a long exposure, the white cotton filter had dust stains and a "dust picture” was left behind. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; When comparing scientific and artistic measuring methods, questions arise about the functionality and accuracy of the devices used and the meaningfulness of the visual results. The contextual dependency and formability of apparently objective recording methods in different disciplines can thus be reflected. „…Dust, for example. Tiny traces are inscribed in the crime novel, the dust cloud that shows the approach of a rider is a semi-forgotten dramatic picture, dust hovers in space. The dust is the cipher of death and transience, it describes the battlefield where the heroes are "stuck in the dust". Courts of arbitration can be used in conflicts between two states, but also between a state and a company or two companies. An important feature of arbitration is the freedom of the parties to decide largely on procedural rules, the type of law applied and the arbitrators appointed. The model illustrates different constellations by means of concrete cases. The design and construction of this camera was made in collaboration with product designer Felix Pape. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; The light pendulum draws the movement of the wind; when the wind moves the sail—that is integrated on top of the camera—the movement is transmitted via a glass fibre cable into the interior of the camera and in this way leaves a drawing on the unexposed photographic paper. At the same time, the camera obscura creates an image of the environment during a extended exposure on the same photographic paper. The end result is then a collage of the environment and the wind that left their impression like a signature. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; With this machine, I caught the wind in the streets of Frankfurt, Paris, on a French beach, and other places. In 2019 I caught the inside wind that is to be found in the Data Room of SAP Germany. A turning plate in an unstable caravan, transforms the movements of the visitors in&nbsp; the course of one day into a drawing. The results were shown during the group exhibition ‘Bitte ein Liebscher!’ in Haus Beda in Bitburg.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; A series of drawings were exhibited. Each drawing shows the course of a day during the exhibition.
